Miami Sports Blog Prediction.

Since football season is but hours away, I suppose it’s time to light MSB back up. What better way to follow up my last bitch-fest post than to make one of my ten predictions of the year. I must say, I have never been so excited to start the season against a cake team as I am right now. I just looked Charleston Southern up, and we are only the fifth D. I team they have ever played. Their schedules are stacked with games against teams like the Citadel, in which they often get blown out. After Shannon announced Marve’s suspension, I had nightmares of Appalachian State vs. Michigan Part II in Dolphins Stadium. But now, my fears are gone. So I am here to make a one sided prediction:

Charleston Southern University will not score one point in tonight’s game.

Aside from Coop and James, the offense will be for the most part be duds this season. But tonight, expect to see fireworks. If Coop and James rush for under 300 yards total, I will be surprised. I also expect to see Jacory with at least 50 yards on the ground. Our defense is pretty sick, so if CSU scores, it will have to be a defensive touchdown or a lame field goal set up by great field position.

As far as the overall prediction… who knows? 35-0? 52-0? 60-0? I hope see you at, ugh, Dolphins Stadium tomorrow night. :*(

Go Canes.

Wow, I haven’t posted in a long time. What better time than the day before the Hurricanes (or at least some of them) take the field? It’s no secret I am 99% against the ‘Canes move to the Orange Bowl (the 1% coming from being able to watch replays), but within just three days prior to the opening of the season, shit has already hit the fan for me. With Coach Shannon’s suspensions and the injuries, it seems like half the team will not take the field. Regarding Shannon, I like the guy. That said, I’m not going to be like other Canes fans and worship every dump he takes. Suspending Marve is a mistake; a huge one. I understand the concept of making examples out of players, but occasionally we must organize the precedence. But if it’s absolutely necessary to have the guy out in this bullshit system, then what about simply benching him for the first half, like other teams? As it is, we will have two different guys starting two different games, playing college football for the first time in their lives. To me, this is Shannon throwing in the towel against the Gators in week 2.

In other “how can Miami piss me off” news, I just got off the phone with Dolphins Stadium, only to find out the gates are opening 4 hours before kickoff tomorrow. So much for great tailgating. It’s opening game, the beginning of a supposedly new era, let us in there 12 hours early, for God’s sake.
