Cleo Lemon to Start for Dolphins on Sunday

Coach Cam has made the decision that despite the majority of Miami fans’ desire to see John Beck finally start a game, Cleo Lemon will again start this Sunday’s game against Buffalo. I am really on my last threads of patience with this coach.

Essentially, he wants to stay with Lemon, because the lack of his first win as an NFL coach is eating at his insides. What a great philosophy. . . Wait until the guy we have been riding for a quarter of the season finally gets a win, and then replace him? Brilliant.

Meanwhile, Miami actually has a decent shot of winning this game. They are well-rested, and Buffalo is awful on the road. So what happens if Lemon wins Miami’s first game on Sunday? We throw Beck at the helm for two games against tough defenses at Philadelphia and at Pittsburgh? That’ll do wonders for his confidence. Or, do we keep Lemon in and never see what Beck has to offer? And even if we do see what Beck has, can we really judge him in such a short period of time?

As far as I’m concerned, the mistake to not start Beck happened long ago. Had he started at Cleveland, we would have ample time to see if he possesses the skills necessary to be an efficient NFL quarterback. But as it is, Miami is furthering its path to becoming the Lions and Bungles of the NFL. Actually, we already are.

Word is, Lemon is starting because they think one win is more important than getting Beck experience.

Good point about throwing Beck to the lions, our end of season schedule is rather tough. I have this perverse dream that the we come into the Pats game with them undefeated and Belichick slavering at the thought of being thought of along with Shula as a great coach for going undefeated then Beck throws a Marino-esque performance and wins on the last play like he did against Utah with BYU. This is a dream I have, but seriously, it could happen, right? If it did, would Beck immediately surpass all but maybe 5 Dolphins as the most loved Miami player ever? I say yes.

I think Beck is going to a good job and this is probably the time to give him some experience.
