Joey Porter vs. Kellen Winslow: ROUND TWO

Posted on October 12th, 2007 in NFL U, Miami Dolphins by Brody

FIGHT!

Porter Winslow FIGHT!

Last season, Winslow and Porter met on the field, and Porter called Winslow a censored so as to lure corporate sponsors “fine, well-adjusted, homosexual young man”.

But he really didn’t mean to offend homosexuals, just K2:

“…if I offended anybody, I apologize for that…I don’t know … I guess because how we used that word freely, me growing up using that word, I didn’t think anything of it. Like I said, I apologize to anyone I may have offended. I didn’t mean to offend anybody but Kellen Winslow.”

The use of the slur cost Porter a $10,000 fine from the NFL.

Before their meeting on Sunday, Porter fueled the fire once again, claiming the Winslow isn’t really a tight end, but a *GASP*… wide receiver!

“He’s a receiver, really,” Porter said. “He’s not a tight end, because he’s not going to block anybody. I’m not knocking his game; he’s a receiver.

“If you ask me who’s going to win the Joey Porter-Kellen Winslow battle: Me. He’s not going to block me and stop me from doing anything I’m going to do.”

Personally, I think Porter has really gone over the line here. Calling the young tight end “fag” was one thing… but “receiver”… bad form Joey. Bad Form.

Winslow has his own way of dealing with the hostility from Porter: giving him a hug.

Kellen Winslow Hugs

Let it out Joey… Let it out…

Winslow has really turned over a new leaf after the “F**KIN’ SOLDIER!” rant. I guess multiple knee injuries and an accident on a crotch rocket will do that to a man. Glad to hear it Kellen.

But one thing, Kellen, whatever you do… don’t hug Porter at the blackjack table. Just don’t.
