Andy Roddick: Our National Shame

Andy Roddick
Look at this Fuckin’ Guy

Seriously, Andy Roddick is our national shame. Can anyone remember a more choke-laden “best” American athlete? I mean, Lefty choked a ton… but he wasn’t our national best, there was Tiger. Even Joey Chestnut usurped Kobayashi.

When is this guy gonna grow a pair and beat Federer? The dude is Swiss. The only things the swiss beat us at are chocolate, skiing and the production of utilitarian knifes.

During the broadcast, Andre Agassi had this to say:

“There’s a fine line between getting pumped up and waking a sleeping giant, I assure you.”

The giant that was awakened was “Andy Roddick: Choke Artist”. Yeah, the same guy who is awake every major. This is the best we have? We used to DOMINATE this sport. We go from McEnroe, to Connors, to Agassi, to Sampras to… Roddick? He’s won as many majors as Michael Chang.

He has a great serve, but that’s it. Nothing else to his game. Then again, what are we to expect? This is the same man who gave up on Mandy Moore. Mandy Moore! Good lord man; you used to bang MANDY F’N MOORE. Not only do you lose to Federer, you lose to DJ AM. Yeah, this f*ckin guy:

Now THIS is how you date up
Kids, THIS is how you date up.

Now you can’t even make the semi-finals of your supposed best event. You know, the U.S. Open. Sit down Andy, call me when you win something.

So to make me feel better, I’m just going to post a ton of Mandy Moore pics:

Just Like Candy liiikeee caaannndaaayyyyI’m proud to say I enjoyed Chasing Libertywowoh mandy

Note: seriously? DJ AM?

[…] I was a bit hard on Andy Roddick last night. In case you missed it, I may have called him our national shame. I don’t take it back (I mean, the guy does choke… a lot). But my vinegar and vitriol […]

If you watched that match and think Roddick is a choker, you: 1) don’t know shit about tennis; 2) just want headlines. I guess you got it. Roddick played well enough to beat anyone else in the world, save for possibly the best player in the history of the game playing at his peak.

Save this article. You can reuse it every time Federer wins. Just replace Roddick’s name with whoever he beat.

Roddick played well enough to beat Federer on most days, but not when he’s at his best like he was last night.

Yeah, he banged Mandy Moore…now he’s banging Brooklyn Decker, and has been linked to Sharapova in the past…somehow DJ AM getting his sloppy seconds doesn’t seem like that big of an insult.

    Haha, true… well… I did recant a bit of what I said here: http://miamisportsblog.com/2007/09/06/roger-federer-zombie-assasin/

but Sharapova? She is REAL overrated.

Last pics I saw, sharapova’s face looks like road kill.

Adam Levine said fucking Maria Sharapova is like fucking a pillow.

And if Adam Levine said it it must be true.

Yah, I’ll take Brooklyn Decker over Mandy any day.

Roddick played his balls off and it just wasn’t good enough to beat Fed’s best. If Fed wasn’t playing his absolute best tennis he would have fallen to Andy. There’s nothing Roddick could have done short of hitting Federer with a pipe to change that result. It’s like Jordan in the finals, nothing you can do about it.

Dude, do you even know what tennis is? It’s obvious that not everyone can be as good as Federer, Connors, McEnroe, Borg, … For you it seems pretty hard to get that. Andy won the USopen, remember?! He was number 1, remember?! I’ve seen him practice, he seriously works his but off. Andy is a great tennisplayer and a great man, needless to say that you’re not.

[…] I love the world’s football, and if you watched the U.S. in the U-20 World Cup this summer (and I know there are at least 4 of us), you know that the U.S. soccer team is among the best young squads in the world; and we’re only getting better. By the World Cup in 2010, the U.S. team should be competitive with the likes of Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore and the ‘Du Brothers (Freddy Adu and Marcus Edu). By 2014 and 2018 hopefully we’ll be lifted of the Landon Donovan curse (don’t get me started on that guy, he is to soccer what Andy Roddick is to tennis). […]
